"HIS WAYS"

Having convinced myself, I'll celebrate guruji's bday all alone and give "tera main" event a miss, I planned my actions for the day very clearly, but since I wanted to take happified to the event, I had to go to the venue once, I confirmed the timings of event and decided to go hours before it begins, so that I can easily find volunteers for happified and leave silently without getting noticed by many people. I had many weird set of reason, in case someone intervenes. I reached at 4.30 pm at the venue, got the happified direction charts placed. It was around 5 pm, when mamta dee suddenly realised, going ahead in the event without happified flex(getting it printed was taken up by her), might place her into not so good, answerable position later and trying to cover up, Made me and keshav run and find someone who could print flex on the spot or at least get a big size poster(I hated it). Bit irritated on such a behaviour, had no other option but to go and search. We ended up getting nothing, but keshav thoroughly enjoyed having vada pav, kohlapuri roll and pastry. I didn't even realised it was more than an hour since we left terapanth bhavan for the flex. I had to rush, if people would have already arrived, all my plans of using stamps would just go into vain. We quickly reached the venue and I tried my best to delegate some important stuff to people and leave. But when i reached, I found all volunteers tied up with some or the other seva, already 7 pm still searching ways out. Plan which seemed so easy earlier, was now leading to funny situations. I quickly made some analysis and chalked out another plan. Gave happified stamps to chirag and all subscription forms to every counter manager present there. When I was about to leave, I would just get sanket's call every few minutes wanting to talk to pratik(why call on my cell only??), in between neha kothari coming up to me and asking to sell "I am honest" tshirts (I didn't even knew what is the price of a tshirt, what sizes we have, why me??) Finally, when I was done with everything, few mins left for the show, my way clear but mind unclear. I was aware of this situation, I knew I won't be able to take any decision if I stay there for long and that was the reason why i wanted to leave much before the show. I still left and was on the street waiting for a rickshaw, asked a couple of them but none seem interested, every second i wasted, my mind played more tricks. Fight between wanting to attend and leaving had turned into a intense war. I decided, I'll ask 1 last rickshaw wala and if he refuses I'll go back to the show and surrender. I had kept my pass in a paper bag near I am honest table, when the last rickshaw refused I just went to see if the pass is still there and it was. Took my pass and went into the auditorium. First and last thing I remember I saw was guruji's picture on the stage background, it was my fav. Picture. When ever I saw the picture, i felt as if guruji is looking into my eye and injecting his grace. That was it, guruji and me, both laughed and I accepted, its HIS WAYS, which decided everything and no other plan or line of action. It was amazing how he kept me busy for hours just to lead me where I was, where he wanted me to be, tera main. As the picture read, celebrating "HIS" presence. I made no other efforts, Rather there were no other efforts left to make. Its all "HIS WAYS". All "HIS WAYS" of saying, "keeping try but I just love playing and you!"

I belong to you guruji.

Going That Extra Mile - Sir Subhash Bhide

The past few months have convinced me that ‘Learning is Eternal’. Prof. Subhash Bhide - 48 year ‘young’, teacher, guide and mentor to thousands of students, proves this adage true. A key professor at Bhide Education Pvt., Ltd., Professor Bhide is a Chartered Accountant and is in the teaching fraternity for the last 24 years, imparting 3 lectures a day on a daily basis. His excellence is not simply restricted to Taxation but extends up to the territories of Strategic Financial Management and Financial Reporting too.

Constant innovations in the art of teaching, enlivening a boring subject with the right dash of humour and a focused teaching methodology are his forte.

Despite being part of an education system that is always being blamed for its various weaknesses, Prof. Bhide has always believed in self- excellence and never allowed his own learning process to stagnate. For him each day is a ‘learning day’, as much as it is a ‘teaching day’.

His unique teaching methodology has helped thousands of individuals grow and prosper from aspiring students to successful professionals. Prof. Bhide has played the role of an architect to the careers of many a professional, and works on future exemplary professionals everyday! It’s his teaching brilliance, which brings even practicing Chartered Accountants to attend his lectures, in a bid to quench their thirst for knowledge.

In ancient India, the schools or ‘Gurukuls’ as they were known as, had Rishis and Acharayas to impart knowledge, and these teachers did not just teach but worked diligently to mould their students into better and successful humans beings. Just like them, Prof. Bhide has gracefully accepted the responsibilities attached with this noble profession called teaching and has set a trend to follow!

A few weeks back, when I heard he had again come up with new explanations to the some old concepts, I didn’t pay much attention. It was only after I attended his Strategic Financial Management again, that I realized what I would have missed had I not attended! I was delighted to hear all the new and improvised explanations from him. He had once again, come up with something new and something better! Teaching the same concepts daily for the last 24 years, Prof. Bhide not just imparts knowledge but makes a visible difference in the students’ lives.

A walk to remember!!

You might have read the famous love story, "a walk to remember" in past, but this story is full of love for the divine. Even though i am lazy to do any hard work, i always wanted to walk to siddhivinayak. From past few years, i made plans to go but never implemented them. This time, it seems divine himself wanted to see me. With a few friends, we made the plan of walking to dadar, it war decide we'll go on 10 sept. on the eve of ganesh utsav. When the day arrived, it wasn't unusual to see people backing off but was still discouraging. I firm determination of walking to dadar was a bit shaken, but divine had his own plans. It was around 7 pm when i came know, all my friends have decided to stay back except 1. I was at the receiving end of a scary feeling, as walk from malad to dadar was not a cake walk. When time approached, i had my bath and left for a, "walk to remember". I had hardly reached goregaon, when i felt a pain in my back. Well it was just the beginning of a journey but it wasn't long when pain was replaced by excitement to meet my friend ganesha. Now there was no stopping. Jogeshwari. . . Andheri. . . Vile parle. . . And on and on. . I clicked a picture on almost all stations(as a proof i did walked all the way). We reached siddhivinayak at 3.55am. In 5 mins. gate were open and people started entering. I was in front of the divine by 4.30, i was at complete peace, not able to think anything or do anything. I just bowed and made my way out, to give other devotees a chance to make peace with the lord.

Dream or Nightmare

I am sitting in big room full of people. They are all sitting on different tables, it looks like a restaurant. I am there with two of my friends, ronak and rushabh. We are having good time, eating and laughing. I see a waiter coming with a big bottle towards us, it can be wine or champagne. I think we are celebrating something. I am looking at the waiter while he is opening the bottle and pours it in my glass. he hand’s over the glass to me, leaving me confused as to whether who has ordered this. I hear a voice of my father behind me, who is sounding upset on seeing me with wine. I try to convince him that I am unaware of this but words fail to come out of my mouth. I get angry at my friends for making an order for hard drinks. Soon I see waiter coming towards me with bill. ronak takes the bill and divides the bill into three shares which comes to around 1300 each. I am still shouting at my friends. There is a strange woman standing beside us with a child in her hands. She is standing very close to us and listening to everything we are speaking. While leaving I decide to leave with my father and ask them to leave in their car. As soon as I reach downstairs I see my father’s car parked in the lot and getting ready to leave. There are many people near the car, all trying to getting in it. I am not able to make an eye contact with anyone, as if I have committed any crime. I can see my maternal grandfather, my sisters, my mom, dad and a many other relatives. Although car was too small for all to accommodate but still they are in it. Car is not getting started and dad with few other are trying to figure out the reason. Suddenly I feel someone’s hand on my shoulder and when I looked back, it was another relative of mine, girish. He offers a few of us ride in his car parked on the other side of lot. I and few others accept this offer and start moving with him. We pass through a canteen sort of area where I see lot of people . I get a feeling that this a place where art of living foundation have its growing influences. It can be it’s Bangalore ashram(can be). I spot rishi vidhyadharji sitting with a few people. When we reach the other gate of this canteen like area, from where girish’s car is just a few steps away. I realizes I have removed my shoes outside the canteen, I go back to the entrance and try to find them but they are missing. i suddenly move towards I different exit which is rarely used(don’t know why I didn’t went back to the canteen). I find myself feeling like a prisoner trying to escape. It’s a narrow way, which looks old and scary. I break open the door and find myself on a sloping road. I start moving downwards, when I see three eunuch coming upward towards me. They are claping fanatically and shouting something. I am freeze with fear as I can see anger in their eyes. They pass over me. I check my cell to see if my father has called or is trying to call but no such signs. Now I am on a road where I can see many shops and restaurants across the road. I spot a sandwich parlor, i move towards it to find out where am I exactly, as I open the door, it hits a guy sitting near the entrance, he is with a group of around 10-12 boys and girls. They are all having hookah. I apologize to this guy and move ahead towards the counter. There is no one there, I ask a person sitting at a table near counter, which place is this? He answers that it was some road no.. can’t remember the number. Everyone is looking at me as if they saw a alien. When I come out of the parlor, a guy comes out running towards me, he is mehul, my childhood friend. I find myself relaxed seeing him. Now I know I am not lost and can go with him to his place atleast. I ask him when is he going home, to which he reply he will go out with his friends and will take time. I explain the whole situation to a person standing outside the parlor that my father is at the other gate of ashram(I don’t know why I have started thinking it’s bangalore ashram) and ask him how much time will it take him to reach here if I call him. to which he answers, “a lot of time”. He calls his friend who is standing a few steps away with a few guys. He calls him sunny. I have never seen that face before. He is short heighted guy in formal cloths. This guy explains his friend sunny the whole situation. Sunny replies the same that it will take to long for my dad to reach here from the other gate. Its better I leave on my own. I ask him a way when two women suddenly walk through us. I could recognize their face, they were some public figures. I was getting more and more confused. I walk a few steps with sunny to find myself in a new area which look like some railway station. I ask him to tell me how to reach my place. He show me a red cloth with some design and suddenly I open my eye and realize it’s a dream. It’s 4.50 am in the morning. I am scared but I remember this dream very clearly.

A journey in awareness.

Awareness is just a state of mind but it can change the world around you or at least it can change the way you look at the world. For some, awareness is simply living in present moment and some think its consciously trying to focus on things.
Today when i got into a rick for my office, i thought of listening to some music but I resisted the idea. When you listen to music, no matter what kind of music, you alienate yourself from rest of the world. I had heard about being in present moment but I wanted to consciously experience it today. I was looking outside at things that were happening around. Within a few minutes, I found all though i went through that road almost every day, there was something new in it. I was just looking around trying not to lose myself in the world of imagination.
I started observing things that were always there, but i never noticed them. My auto stopped at a signal and I was waiting for green signal but it seemed extra slow today. My attention went to a man, sitting on road side with a small bag full of coals beside him and a knife in his hand. He had a stone were he would keep one piece of coal on the stone and cut it into small pieces. While doing so, he kept looking around. He would look to his left and right (as if he is doing something wrong which he don’t want others to see) and then again started cutting coals. I found that weird but kept looking at what he did. Now i was interested in knowing, what was he doing? Suddenly signal went green and we moved on. He was a strange but somewhere down i knew i had got a very unique character which could be used someday in my book. There was an urge in me to write him down, so that i don't forget him but then again a strange thing happened (everything seemed strange) or I should say, a strange thought. If i would write about him now, i would never come to know the right time and the right place to use him. A fear of wasting such a precious character started haunting in my mind. (A roadside man suddenly became a precious character) I decide to leave it. I knew i would forget this character soon but was also confident that my mind would remind me of him at the right time.
I was about to reach office, thinking about everything that happened throughout the journey. When i finally reached, I got down and saw that the meter read 2.10. I asked the auto driver to check what the fair was for 2.10. He looked at me and said rs. 25. While paying i realized once i had paid rs. 25 when the meter read 2.00. So it should definitely be more than that. I asked him to check again to which he showed me the fare card, which confirmed he was right. I cursed other autowalas for charging me more than normal. I gave him the fair and started walking towards my office. While walking I started summarizing everything again, If i would have not decided to stay away from music for in this journey, i would have got irritated the moment auto stopped at signal; The man cutting coal on roadside (a precious character) would have gone unnoticed. A sense of honesty, when i wanted to pay the autowala more (at least i thought what he was asking for was less) and I would be careful next time when ever meter read 2.00.
Wait wait!!!!!
Last but not the least, i would have never written this piece you are reading.
